Shemer Art Center

The Shemer Art Center hosts an annual art competition called New Horizons.  Fifty high schools throughout the valley compete for awards.  Only two entries per school are allowed, so to even be picked to represent your school is a real honor and to win a prize, is even better.  Theses are some of Apollo's winning entries.

Jan. 2012--For the second year in a row, junior, Clara Kesti won the Shemer Family Award of $100.  The charcoal and conte drawing is called, "First Masquerade".

Dec. 2010--Congratulations to sophomore, Clara Kesti for winning $100 for "Secret's Out", a white charcoal on black paper drawing.
