February Recap Looking towards March
Families,
It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into March! Spring Break is just two weeks away, and once we return, we’ll have one week before we begin State Testing on March 31st. As we approach testing, we’ll share more details about schedules, transportation, and what the adjusted class days will look like. Testing will continue through the following two weeks, and our campus will run on a modified schedule during those days.
Celebrating Apollo: A+ School of Excellence
As I’ve shared previously, the Arizona Education Foundation has officially named Apollo High School an A+ School of Excellence. This is an incredible achievement and a direct reflection of the amazing things happening at our school each day. Our students, staff, and community earned this honor together, and it’s something we should all be extremely proud of.
Please continue to spread the word being an A+ School means we are recognized as a school of excellence across the state, and it’s a great point of pride when talking about Apollo.
I also encourage you to share this with incoming 9th grade families. Your perspective is powerful, and helping future freshmen learn about the opportunities, programs, and supportive environment at Apollo can make a big difference as they choose their high school path.
March Events & Student Activities
This week, we will hold our final Spring Assembly, recognizing all of our outstanding spring athletes. I hope you’ll find time to come cheer on our Hawks:
-
Track & Field
-
Tennis
-
Boys Volleyball
-
Baseball
-
Softball
Right before Spring Break and continuing through the break our baseball and softball teams will host tournaments here on campus. We’re excited to welcome teams not only from Arizona but from out of state as well.
In addition, we have several upcoming fine arts events, including our spring play, as well as choir, dance, and band concerts. Please look out for dates and come support the incredible student talent showcased on our campus every day.
Attendance, Grades & Communication
Parents, I strongly encourage you to continue using ParentVUE to monitor your student’s attendance and grades. Staying connected helps students stay on track and achieve results they can be proud of.
Please reach out to teachers whenever you have questions about what’s happening in the classroom. Maintaining open communication between school and home is essential for student success.
Attendance remains the number one factor that impacts student performance. Please help ensure that students are getting to school consistently and on time. As a reminder, our tardy policy continues: students late to first hour will receive a tardy pass and must turn in their cell phone, which can be picked up after attending Lunch Detention.
Looking Ahead
Thank you for everything you do and for being such an important part of the Apollo community. Let’s continue to make March a great month, enjoy Spring Break, and head into the final stretch of the 2025–2026 school year strong.
