Clothing closet expands

Clothing closet expands

DECA students recently donated $1000.00 from their school store sales to expand the existing clothing closet by 100 square feet. The closet has free business and casual wear, a multitude of shoes, ties, soaps, deodorants, purses and personal items for any student or community member to choose from.

Athletes are free to come in for special dress day clothing as needed.  CTE and other club students can take items for conferences, competitions and performances.  The school nurse often refers students who have had mishaps involving clothing.  The goal is to keep students active in their activities, in classes, focused on learning, not the lack of clothing or hygiene items.

Since school opened in August, more than 40 students have utilized the closet.  The Apollo staff and faculty often donate items and DECA students keep the closet organized.

Any student or community member in need can visit the closet any time of day and take anything with no questions asked.

DECA members are proud to provide this service.
