Student Council Overview

Student Council is a co-curricular class with seven representatives for each class and a governing student body made up of nine positions.

Student Council is available for 0.5 elective credits per semester.  All students in Student Council must take Student Council for 4th hour every day.

Grades are awarded based on a point system and participation in student council.  Students earn points for attending meetings, decorating sessions, school events, community events, fundraisers, and charity events.  All students in Student Council must also complete five hours of community service each quarter.

Students are responsible for having their counselor add them to the roster if they are elected as an officer or chosen as a delegate, turning in their notebooks at the end of each quarter, and following through with their commitment to Student Council.

Attached below is the constitution and syllabus for Student Council, further explaining the policies and procedures of the course, and the grading rubric, which provides examples of how points can be earned.
