Naval Junior Reserve Officers' Training Program

(NJROTC)

The NJROTC Program is based on meeting the needs of today's high school student. While military-oriented, the emphasis of the Naval Science four-year program is to develop Citizenship, Respect, Responsibility, and Leadership traits. Other objectives are to promote patriotism, develop a high degree of honor, self-reliance, self-discipline, physical fitness, and teamwork.

NJROTC Cadets will develop life skills comprising of ethical decision making, goal setting, attention to detail, and preparation for life after high school. The NJROTC program offers a variety of hands-on experience through active participation in class, field trips, and variety of after school activities which include our Armed/Unarmed Drill Teams, Color Guard, Land Navigation (Orienteering Teams), Community Service Teams, and Academic Teams.

The NJROTC Program requires students to wear a uniform, normally once a week; the Uniform Wearing Grade is a major factor in earning a grade or credit while enrolled in NJROTC. NJROTC is an elective class and NOT a military recruiting program. Studies have shown less than 10% of students will join the Military or any Service Academy / ROTC College Program.
