The Glendale Union High School District Governing Board proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone: 25 years of service that has left an enduring mark on students, colleagues, and the school community. This milestone reflects not just a career but a legacy of influence, care, and unwavering commitment that continues to strengthen the Glendale Union High School District.
Sheryl Lovell, Social Studies Teacher
Sheryl Lovell has been a guiding force for students and colleagues across the Glendale Union High School District. Beginning her career at Thunderbird High School in 2000, she taught World History, U.S. History, Government, Economics, and AP Government, and also served as Student Council sponsor. During her time at Thunderbird, she earned recognition as Teacher of the Year. She contributed to numerous principal-selected committees, leaving a lasting mark on the campus and its traditions.
Sheryl brought her expertise to the District Office as Instructional Technology Curriculum Coordinator. Her career also includes impactful work at Independence High School, where she taught AP U.S. History and Government/Economics and supported students as a Senior Class sponsor.
Since 2014, Sheryl has been a cornerstone of Apollo High School, teaching Government, Economics, and AP Government, and contributing to campus leadership and student development, including serving as the National Honor Society sponsor. Sheryl’s decades-long dedication, innovative spirit, and mentorship have motivated countless students and staff members, making her a true exemplar of excellence in education and a cherished part of the GUHSD community.
