Title IX Coordinator

In 2009, Mr. Barnes was appointed as the Assistant Principal of Operations and Resources. During the 2008-2009 school year, Mr. Barnes served as the Assistant Principal of Discipline and Attendance for Apollo High School.  Mr. Barnes began his educational career at Apollo teaching biology, freshman science and systematic conditioning.   In addition to teaching, Mr. Barnes began coaching football at Apollo in 1992, to later take over the program and serve as Apollo’s Head Football coach in 2000.  Mr. Barnes was also involved with Apollo’s Track and Field and Wrestling programs.

Mr. Barnes graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Physiology from Arizona State University and later received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in 1997.

As the Assistant Principal of Discipline and Attendance, Mr. Barnes hopes to remain a positive influence on the students of Apollo by guiding them to make intelligent decisions that will benefit their life and the lives of our entire student body.
