The Mathematics Department at Apollo understands the importance of assigning relevant practice to ensure the success of students.   Assignments and practice are carefully aligned to the state standards. 

In addition to Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, AHS offers 3 dual credit classes:  College Algebra, Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus.  Apollo also offers two honors classes:  Honors Algebra 1/Geometry and Accelerated Honors Algebra 2.

Department teachers provide many opportunities for students to be successful in mathematics.  Extra help is available before and after school in classrooms as well as in the SOAR Center (room 806).

As part of Arizona’s high school graduation requirements, students must pass the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) mathematics. Sophomore students are tested annually each April and retesting is held in October. Saturday TEST BEST Sessions are taught by AHS math teachers to encourage student success.  Tutoring is also available for AIMS testers through the Counseling Dept.
